Katwa College was founded on 16th August, 1948. College library started its initial journey and from 10th January , 1949 with some donated  books. Now at present, College library has 3 wings

1.  Central Library which mainly caters the needs Honours students (Science, Arts & Commerce), teachers & nonteaching staff of College,

 

2.  Morning Library Caters the needs of pass student of morning shift of Katwa College & B.ED library meets the demand of B.ED department of Katwa College. Each library is headed by a librarian.

CENTRAL LIBRARY

  • The central library has more than 39,101 books (upto May, 2018).
  • The library is run by Mr. Subhajit Sanyal, selection Grade Librarian.
  • Partial computerisation has been made in the library. Any person can search books through web OPAC. OPAC Login for Central Library is – katwacollege-opac.kohacloud.in
  • Central Library has the facility of ‘Open Access System’ for teaching and non teaching staff but bound to adopt ‘Closed Access System’ due to acute shortage of space in the  stack room.
  • A well-stocked Central Library is an asset to the Katwa College.
